baby's size

This is my first pregnancy. I went to see Dr. Yu last Tuesday. According to my last date of period, my baby should be 8 weeks old. However, the ultrasound shown its size is only 2.6mm. Dr. Yu said because of my long cycle (ususally 35- 40 days), the baby may only 5 weeks old.

I'm kind of worry of it's size. Can anyone share your experience?

hi monmonchiu,

just for your ref, when my baby 5 weeks old (this is my fist time to see the doctor), he told me that my baby around 0.4mm. until 60/june, my baby is 10 weeks old, he / she with 1.8cm. so i think you should keep closly to see the doctor, checking about your baby size. :wink:

Hello monmonchiu,

when i was 6 wks 5 days, my bb is 5.9mm, by that time bb also has heart beat.

i will check again at week 10. keep exchanging info la!

咁余e生同你照ultrasound時, 睇唔睇到bb心跳呀?

比起baby-center的網站入面的size chat detail好多架, 因為佢由5week2day開始就有statistic, 唔似baby-center個chat(最早係8week開始)

Hi monmonchiu,

It's normal, don't worry. I have the same case as yours (long period cycle). According to my doctor, my baby should be 13week if I have a normal mp, but it is only 11week. She said it is reasonable to have 2week diff. because of long mp and no need to worry of the size.

照ultrasound時, 睇到bb心跳. Will see Dr. Yu again 4 week later, hopefully its size is getting bigger by then.

Have you gals having morning sickness (vomiting)? Thanks god, I haven't vomited till now, but I just have no mood to eat.

this is my first bb also/

luckily i don't have vomit so far. for eating, sometimes i eat a lot, but some times i dont want to eat! I think it will be better a few weeks later!

Thanks hihihi,

After reading your experience and the web site referred by chick chick, I feel more comfortable.

The web site referred by chick chick is very good, it was actually a scientific paper on the fetal size. Although the research is based on the Australian population, we can treat it as a reference. Thanks chick chick!
