Your Yan really "doesn't know death" because the employer she was facing was you, who is such a wise and cautious employer.
Those days I erred in some of the steps to be taken after the Yan had run away coz I was new to such thing. But, nowadays I've learnt a lot and do not mind if my maid run away one day.
My recent maids, knowing that I always have the right response and caution, would seldom tease me with cunning tricks. I make everything black and white, from salary recepit to reminders (warnings) and appraisals, jsut for the purpose of preventing them from crossing the line, and no more. I speak proper words in proper tone in order not to leave a trail for them to accuse. I bring almost every formality that I used to see in the office to the relationship with maids. But, they do hate me for this and choose to quit the job. Being cautions is a defect.
Its so exhausting to be doing like this but I think we have to.
