04年8月breast feed mum - discussion and sharing

I know there are BF mum in our 2004 Aug community and therefore would like to set up headline on this so that we can share our experience more efficiently. Let's first start with me and my baby girl - 海晴
- as of today she is 5.5 months
- 全人奶, pump during lunch hour in office
- only drink 5-6 oz mama milk when using milk bottle
- pump 0630,1300 and 1830. Each time 5-8oz
- 2 meals from milk bottle and 3 meals from mum directly. feed 1 糊仔 during lunch. using Greber cereal mixed with ma ma milk
- originally plan to stop bf when reach 6 months, now want to bf until 1 year old.
- at 5 months she weight 6.5kg, around 14.3 pound.

I am only Half-人奶 (actually, should be less than half), all pumped out:
- as of Jan 17, she is 5m3w4d old
- 3 meals for formula and 2 meals for mama milk (as I don't have enough supply :-( :-( )
- pump 4 times a day, 6am, 12pm, 6pm, 12am, each time 3-4oz
- never tried 糊仔... planning to start this week
- at 5m3w2d, she weighed around 9.5kg (20.9lb)

I use mixed-feeding method to feed my little [size=medium]Joshua
- as of today he is 5 months
- 3 meals of pumped 人奶 and 2 meals of S26 of Wyeth and 1 meal feed by myself (1900)
- can drink 6-8 oz mama milk when using milk bottle
- pump 0600,1300 and 2200. Each time 6-8 oz
- not yet start to feed 糊仔 or juice but will plan to start when he reaches 6m with rice cereal mixed with mama milk
- originally plan to stop bf when reach 6 months, now want to bf till after the peak of influrenza period in Spring 05.
- at 4 months (December 16) he weighted 7.87kg, around 17pounds.

When compared my 海晴 with Joshua and 雋欣, shen seems like from the little man kingdom. . .really envy you!! Last two weeks 海晴 only drink little from milk bottle (2-3oz). . .I guess this is the reason why she's lag behind. .

我隻臭豬- 婕婕
- as of today she is 4 months 3weeks 2days
- 全人奶, pump during lunch hour in office
- usually drink 7 oz mama milk when using milk bottle (通常每日要補2安s-26)
- pump 0630 (7oz) &,1300 (12.5oz)
- 3 meals from milk bottle and 2 meals from mum directly.
- 糊仔未正式食, 只係試食過4次
- originally plan to stop bf when reach 6 months.
- at 4 months she weight 18 pound.

The reason why Alicia is fat is because she sleeps a lot! She sleeps for 1-2 hours after each meal, and she falls asleep while she is drinking milk. When she was young, she slept for more than 20 hours a day.

That may be one of the reason coz 海晴 sleeps little during the day. only 0.5 to 1.5 hours, though she sleep through the night from 2230 to 0630

Baby Joshua's day schedule is like this:

6:30-7:15 wake up + talking ?-( to his friends (the dolls hang on the musical mobile)
7:30-9:00 carry by gong gong and drink mama milk (4 oz)
9:00-10:00 por por come and bathing + drink the rest of his 1st meal (6 oz)
10:00-11:30 sleeping
11:30-12:30 playing/talking to gong gong or por por
12:30 2nd meal (7 oz)
1:30 -2:30 sleeping
2:30-6:30 playing/talking/afternoon sleep/drink milk (6 oz)
7:00 feed by me
9:00 change pajamas + feed formula
10:30 sleeping through the night

I guess maybe Joshua likes to eat soooooo much!!! whatever you put close to his little mouth, he MUST open his mouth and wanna to BITE!!!

My baby girl, Caron
- 5 month 2 week old
- fully breastfeed and directly feed from me. Drink max 4 oz each time.
- she tried rice cereal for around 5 times. She started okay, but she refused rice cereal since yesterday. I donno what to do because she throws up while I feed her with cereal.
- Plan to bf until at least 9 months because she has eczema.
- at 5 month-old, she is 15 lb 2 oz.

Any idea how to help her to accept cereal? What can I do except waiting?

Try to give her thicker or thiner cereal. My girl cried when the cereal is too thin. She only accept something with thicker texture. It's okay if Caron doesn't eat Cereal coz she can have congee directly. I know some babies skip cereal and start congee directly.

My son, Xavier
- 5 months 2 days old
- I'm full time mom so I breastfeed him directly everytime (4 times a day), unless I need to go out without him.
- I seldom give him mama milk in bottle so not sure how much he usually drinks. Last time he finished 7 oz in the last feed of the day.
- I haven't given him anything else except milk, water and vitamin drops and plan to start at 6 m
- intended to bf for 2m originally but seeing how healthy he seems, I continue to bf him. Touchwood he hasn't been sick so far, except diaherra in last 2 weeks. Everyone said it's the best so not sure when and if I should stop bf...on the other hand, it's not always easy to bf him when we go out.
- at 4 months he weighed 7.1kg, around 16 pound.
- my son sleeps from 9pm-7 something in the morning and usually sucks his fingers/looks around till I pick him up at 8.
- he usually have 3-4 naps of 30-50min nap during the day.

I used to have a job and now my friends all think I must have a lot of free time.

They don't understand how exhausting it is to entertain a baby. My son can hardly play by himself for more than 30 min, except in the morning. I just hope he can be happy on his own longer once he learns how to sit unsupported or crawl.

I totally agree with you on how busy a mom can. babies are restless!! but once they crawl, we need to give more attention!

你地d bb一晚可以訓咁長時間, 但我個囡就唔係好得, 佢通常12點半先入睡朝早通常7點半就起身, 但餐與餐之間就要小睡, 通上朝早要小睡2.5hrs, 下午就小睡兩次每次1.5hrs, 夜晚個一次小睡就0.5-1.5hr, 點樣可以令佢夜晚早d

situation will be better soon ...

my baby Joshua used to sleep b4 11:00 pm but he has this habit since birth,,, maybe you let him to calm down early abit, change diaper early and feed him abit early... la...

I also have your problem, sometimes can pump more but sometimes not... but I find relax youself can help... try la.

Joshua even doesn't drink at night, he must sleep b4 11:00 pm... (just like a toy suddenly wihtout battery) then can't wake him up ga laa...

If give her some more milk leeee?!

婕婕最後個餐都要淸我貨(食晒兩邊), 保守估計都9安(應該唔只)

婕婕係日頭同午睡都會自己訓或者聽指定bb 音樂訓, 唯獨夜晚個轉就唔係好肯自己黎, 有時要我唱成個鐘"123"先肯訓, 如果佢仲係好精神, 咁就唯有出殺手間---> 唅99
