My husband immigrated to Canada when he was little and got naturalized through his parents (they would be considered the 1st generation I guess). I am not a Canadian, but we would like our bb to be....
I think it's better if you check with Immigration Canada, they have passed a new law in 2009. In my understanding, it only affects your grandchild, not your child.

According to my understanding, if one parents became Canadian thru the normal naturalization process in Canada, he/she would be considered as 1st generation and his/her next generation will become Canadian automatically if born outside Canada. But the rule does not apply to the next next generation.
the new law limits – with a few exceptions – citizenship by descent to one generation born outside Canada.
This means that children born to Canadian parents in the first generation outside Canada will only be Canadian at birth if:
•one parent was born in Canada, or
•one parent became a Canadian citizen by immigrating to Canada and was later granted citizenship (also called naturalization).
