Can you memorize the date and time you called your Insurance agent before you decided to send your kid to private hospital ? If yes, then you can mark it down and ask Manulife to retrieve the recording tape to prove that you are toally mislead by the agent. In this case, I think you can claim at least 50% hospital fee as there is an evident that some 'professional' agent cause you to make this error, it's part of their responsibility to clear all the doubt about your insurance policy.

i know the date and time, but i phoned to the Agent's mobile phone so probably no record in Manulife, but she admitted that she misled us and agreed to pay us back 50%, but...
To look back the whole case, we did not do anything wrong. It's hard to convince ourselves to accept 50%. :-| :-|
