Interview is not reliable. My ex-bun bun told me she wanted to learn cooking at the interview. But, she still failed to pick up after a year. The fact was she didn't want to - not go market and more time on phone and SMS.
So, it really depends.
In general, those with ex-Singapore experience are relatively ok as employers in Singapore are quite tough.
I believe people of the same mentality go together. If your friend's bun bun is ok, her friends should not be far below.
