Traffic- O.K. bus, MTR, over-night bus , ferry, don't be worry, the network is good due to near airport.
Air Condition - the air condition in Hong Kong overall are bad except Sai Kung & Southern H.K. Island.
Shopping- A Parkn' superstore, Espirit, SaSa, Hagandaze, Cinema, music instruments store, Fortress ,other restaurants and clothing stores etc are in the shopping mall. In Yat Tung Estate, there is market, clinic, Da Carol, Chinese Restaurant, Post Office and some small stores.
Since, near airport the facilities provide would not be too bad. l
According to my experience, from Tung Chung to Central only 30 minutes by bus No. E11.
