My philip maid is very bad one, so I decided to terminate the contract and giving one mth notice for her. As we are not rich one, we cannot afford to pay money and it is not worth for the bad maid to get one mth salary instead. This week is the last week that she can go, but tonight I her my kid 2 year old in the bathroom crying so long then I go inside to see she sit in the bathtub with water reach to her belly but the water is cold. I don't belive it. I want to complain but where can I write to ??? immigartion department. But my husband said it won't work. I just feel very frustrated. We hired them, pay salary, two kinds of insurance fees, air ticket, but when they become bad and do something bad to your family and wanted to leave earlier and want you to give one mth salary. We have no choice, no say, because we don't have time to play with them.
Totally understand your frustration. I have a helper comes for tourism - even have to cook for her (because my family needs to eat). Have given one month notice and she is leaving soon - for Ocean Park and Disney Land.
I think the HK Govt needs to amend the laws to give higher degree of protection to us as employers.
I really happy that you understand my feeling, I want to shout but no use, we spent a lot of money and time on them. If you want to hire a new one you need to wait 2 and 1/2 mths times. Just feel that waste time and money.
well I think what you can do is, do the same thing to her! when she has shower, make sure the gas/ hot water is switched off and she will ahve the same dame freezing cold water!!!!

Yes, it is a waste of time and money + a lot of frustration. We just want to hire someone to work. If they do not want to work, please dont come.
Heard before and now personally experienced there are some looking for exposure / tourism rather than seeking a job. We never know their underlying objectives until they are employed and start working.
Can't imagine why your helper does that. She is just a kid. No matter how discontent she has been with you or your husband, she should by no way do this on a toodler. So inhuman.
Those maids who break contract should not be hired in Hong Kong directly. They must return to their home countries at least 1 year before they seek employment in Hong Kong again.
Those who filed case to Labour Department are not allowed to seek employment until case is over. They must return to their home countries for 6 months before apply for job again in HK. Do not allow them just leave Hong Kong to Macau to wait for visa.
Those who commited crime in Hong Kong is not allowed to work in HK again. NEVER!
Those who cannot finish at least 3 months contract, they have to pay for their own tickets to return home.
Employment agency has to be responsible for their health record and personal record. Once given wrong and misleading information, agency has to be charged in court. Name of agency has to be publicised. Licensed has to be suspended for more than 3 times.
Give her a warning letter and attach a copy with the termination letter and send to the Immigration. I'm not sure it will help but just express your dissatisfaction.
You'd better not let her cook for your family and take care of the kids once you give her notice.
This is crazy, sometimes I jus don't understand why can't they put in a heart for their jobs. I am not trying to say anything bad about filipino helpers, but it seems that they are getting worse in quality and it is so hard for us to get good ones. I am having very bad experiences with mine at home as well, she took off all my daughter's clothes and let her run around the hse with windows wide open, then prepare water for her to take a bath. So my baby was there naked under cold weather to wait.... :(
