If 美金支票 issued in HK (e.g. Manulife HK), can be deposited to your HK account without any charge, can be used the next day.
If 美金支票 issued overseas, 買斷or託收 as mentioned by a sis here. If 買斷, should be able to use the money next day. If 託收, have to wait for the 支票 to clear which will take for 2wks-1 mth (HK bank has to send msg to overseas issuing bank to ensure the payor has the $$). Whether 買斷or託收 depends on the amt of the chq, the issuing bank name (has r/ship with bank), your r/ship with your bank etc.
