I started breastfeeding 4 hours after my BB was born (by 開刀).
Yes. The sooner the better!!
Because BB's sucking reflex is the strongest after he's born.
Plus, better to let BB take milk from the breast as his first try (rather than milk from a bottle) ah!!
You should really talk to the nurses about this wor...
My BB was born at around 9 am at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
I returned to my room at around 12 noon. The nurses were very supportive and experienced in breastfeeding. They asked whether I wanted to BF immediately. Then, they taught me how to BF on the bed.
The wound was not painful in the beginning because the drug effect for controlling the pain of the operation was still there. But then...wah wah! More and more painful ah!!! :-( But of course, when I saw BB, the pain would go away a bit  .
I got out of bed on the next day (but still very painful!!) and BF by sitting on the chair.
In fact, for the first 3 days, I did not have much milk. So I need to give BB formula (but using a cup only). Then on day 4, I went back to full breastfeed as my milk came.
