Need to pay :

- Payment to Indonesian Consulate, for issue of new passport (upon expiry of old passport) = a few hundred dollars

- Payment to HK Immigration Dept, for extension of DH visa = $135
(this must be done AFTER issue of new passport; need to fill in a form and employer need to write a letter re: maid is still working under current DH contract no., bring along 1-2 photos, old passport and new passport, current DH contract)

But you must get the passport back from the agency first.
Tell the agency that you want to take your maid to Macau, or China, to take care of your kid.
Then go TOGETHER WITH your maid to collect the passport from the agent.
It is illegal for the agency to keep the maid's passport, under the laws of HK.
But if your maid goes to agency to try to get the passport back, they will not give it to her, because passport = money $$$. Of course the agency refuses to return the passport.

但可能係個護照到期喎！

我覺得錢系第二個問題！
第一個問題係個 Agent 的態度才是重點！
比錢都要比得甘心比得開心。

你都好像agency講野下~人地問續passport幾＄＄∼唔洗咁呀∼一個就人問續約就叫唔好搵agency∼大佬，唔係個個咁得閒架∼問非所答∼

續passport，consulate收工人＄５００．－（出去２次，佢自己做到架∼唔洗你去架∼我工人都係自己做∼唔似續約咁煩架∼

我工人本passport 都到期,她唔想比agent 做因為要收$$,她自己已經到印尼領事館做了新的passport 今天取有得取,
但個agent 叫她要到灣仔入境處把個working visa 轉移到新passport 內,我打去入境處外傭組熱線電話想問下D資料,個電話永遠打唔通

我工人舊年10月換咗新passport,但領事館D人將兩本(新舊)passport釘埋就用得,唔駛突登去入境署加印喎…
但係未出過境,唔知用唔用得…

我想問下工人自己去做要幾多幾呀? 我問清楚agent, 原來係$500全包. Thanks!!, 其實唔相差太遠我會補錢比工人搵agent做, 因為我有2個小朋友喺屋企.

Yes, Indo Consulate will staple the 2 passports together upon renewal of passport.

But the DH Working Visa is issued by HK Immigration Dept, not Indo Consulate.

You had better check the validity of the latest DH Working Visa in your maid's "old" passport. That is a large sticky label with the maid's name, the current DH contract no., employer's name and address on it.

工人自己去做extension of working visa, HK Imm Dept 要$135. Takes about 1 hr - 1 hr 30 min to wait for collection.

到入境處把working visa 轉到新passport 內收費HK$135.00,當日可取,但要坐在入境處等,約三個小時....
你個agent 收$500.00 ,唔貴呀,不如比agent 做好過...

Visa validity = (passport validity - around 2 weeks) OR (DH contract validity + 2 weeks) , whichever is earlier.

All visas expire BEFORE passport expires.

After checking the DH visa expiry date, you had better call up HK Imm Dept enquiry line to see what you should do.
If your maid's DH visa has already expired by now, there MAY be a penalty $$$ - but I am not sure about this, haven't experienced this myself.
