Hi, all fathers, I would like to buy a DV camcorder which may be DV tape, memory meida or even hard disc. Please introduce me some very good value DV cam. I prefer light in weigh, small size, good battery life, high quality movie (eg 3CCD) BUT no need for fancy functions. Many Many thanks to you all. I can read Chinese and English, Thanks again.
although DC can take video but their quality can't compare with DV.
Most DC can take video at 640 x 480 at 30 frames/sec. and the bitrate is low.
Most DV can take MPEG 2 or AVI in 768 x 576 with higher bitrate. Sony have a DV that can that HD Video 1080i. Also Sanyo has a new HD MPEG4 recorder at around HK$5680.......
don't buy harddisk dv now at the quality is relatively poor wait a little longer new models from Sony, Tosihba will come soon
If you urgently need to buy a DV I would recommend panasonic NSG150 parallel import good at HK$3990 only and you can buy harddisk model later........
i agree with sumdetectivebaba. i have DV too, but when go on holiday, it is so heavy to carry so many items, plus AC chargers. (i have to carry my notebook to check emails too) so i also use Casio DC EX-Z750, which allows me 1 hour video (medium resolution) with 1GB SD card.
of course, the quality is not as good as DV, but then it is convenient to convert to DVD on the computer. when you have baby, you have to carry milk bottle, hot water, nappies, etc; soon you don't want to carry the DV.
i suggest you just buy a cheap DV, because soon, you won't want to use it.
