If you have babies or kids need the maid to take care, I think it's better to give one month salary as compensation rather than notice. Unless you have relatives at home who can take care babies or kids and look after your maid. Otherwise, don't take risk!
If you can make her resign then you save the 30-day pay. But I would rather get rid of her immediately by paying. It gives you a peace of mind rather than having to worry all the time in that month. It is true especially if you have young children.
