If you want to view the AI files, you can open them in the free Acrobat reader, either by FILE-->OPEN and changing the file type to any, or (as long as it was created in a recent version of Illustrator) by actually changing the extension to PDF. Also, pretty much anything you would use to convert PDF to JPG would probably work for a (recent) AI to JPG if you change the extension to PDF
then i have no idea for that,
by the way if it is not a very important document, you could send it to me,
as I have ai software and could try convert to a jpg or pdf for you.
but if it is a japanese file, then I may not help as I don't have Japaneese font on my machine.
