Do you sleep with your baby?

Dear BK Moms,

My son is now 16 months. Due to the termination of the previous maid, I need to take care of my son who is sleeping in our bedroom. As he could wake up in the middle of the night or have bad dreams, both me and my husband cannot sleep well and this could affect our work.

Our maid who has been working for us for 6 months has been getting along very well with us but that my son doesn't allow her to take care of him in the evening in the baby's room.

Could anyone tell me the technique in training a baby to sleep in his own room either alone or with the maid? Many thanks.

你同你老公輪住同bb訓, 咁一個殘左就第二個頂上, 我諗會好過晚晚兩個都唔夠訓囉, 試下啦.....好好多架....

Sweetheart,

Thanks for your message. I am afraid that my husband is very concerned with is sleeping time because his work cannot allow him to make mistake. In any case I still need to try out.

咁都唔係辦法, 應該解決佢半夜喊呢個問題. 因為佢就算唔同妳同房, 佢既喊聲一樣會令妳無覺好訓!!!

你可吾可以日頭同佢玩多啲, 等佢玩到夜晚攰啲, 咪可以一覺瞓到大天光囉, 又或者吾好比佢瞓咁耐晏覺, 等佢夜晚一上床就瞓得冧啲....

I also sleep with my baby. But she sleep like a pig when she was born in the first day. So, i don't have such problem. I found that sleep with baby is a kind of happy thing.

i think most of the baby sleep with parents is good for their feelings. they will feel much more safe, but of course a big bed is better.......

我囡囡有時都會半夜發惡夢喊架...
當佢真係喊既時候,你試下攬實佢,
話俾佢知,唔駛驚...問下佢：你係咪發惡夢呀？
媽咪錫番啦．．唔駛驚．．．幫佢抹眼淚，
俾佢飲啖水（訓覺擺定支ｂｂ水ｏ係房）
咁佢就會ｏｋ，再訓番，但係就要你抱一陣囉∼

我地一個星期都會有兩/三幾晚一齊訓架, 個女訓中間, 佢會係未訓著之前, 錫吓 daddy 錫吓我咁, 好 sweet :-P

每次訓之前, 我地三個都會一齊坐係張大床到唱吓歌仔, 又或者講吓故仔咁, 有時候, 又會攬埋一齊係到 gig 黎 gig 去, 我個女就當然係最開心o個個啦

而家仔仔成日都掛住玩，唔願0訓，攪到次次都我0地夾硬捉佢放0係我0地張大家床度，按住佢，過0左10分鐘左右就0訓0架啦…但係由於我0地兩公婆都太累，所以次次等佢0訓0左，我0地都費事抱番佢落bb床，所以佢而家多數同我0地0訓…

我大仔同我哋同房 sleep (in BB床) until 2 years old. We planned to sleep with my 細仔 until 2 years old too. 我哋之前聽啲講座 mentioned that this is our precious period for building up 親子關係 especially the kids were taking care by the maid in daytime. 雖然係辛苦啲﹐但只是2年﹐可以換來XX年的親密關係﹐抵呀﹗

After 2 years, we persuade my boy to sleep in his room with my maid using 上下格床﹐i.e. he was still slept by his own. He can make it although he would ask the maid to accompany him sometimes. After successfully change room for 6 months, the challenge come - my maid 放假回鄉﹐i.e. he really slept by his own in his room.

On 1st night, he did cry for my maid. But starting from 2nd night, he may sleep well until dawn. So I believed our kids can sleep by his own if need. 對他們要有信心﹐自己也要堅持立場﹗
