my b started to throw up a few times a few days ago n fever suddenly yesterday (over 38 c) ... doc said virus n may has diarrhea ... high fever at night ...
he did diarrhea a few times after seeing doc yesterday ...
and fever again last night at ard 38.6 c n i gave him medicine again ... but seems hard to back to normal temp ... however, he's doing better in day time ...
read fr other messges that bb fever will last for a few days w/ high temp ... so, how to deal w/ it !!?

How is your baby doing now? Sometimes baby just gets rid of the germs either through throwing up or having diarrhea. If these symptoms accompanied with temp, then using pamol is just fine. The baby might throw up or have diarrhea for a few days (hopefully max. 3 days). If the symptoms last more than 3 days, you should take him to the doctor.
Things you can do:
(1) Make sure he drinks lots to maintain the fluid level to prevent dehydration. Drink water or juice not milk.
Doctors usually give your baby Oral rehydration Salts sachets.
(2) Give him pamol (make sure not exceeds the total amount in a day).
(3) warm bath to lower the temp
(4) dress your baby cool not too hot
Your baby might lost appetite in these few days, it is very normal and common. So, if it happened, don't worry cos' he will get back to normal very soon.
Hope you are not too stressed at this time. your baby will get well very soon.
All babies have their first time get sick. You have been doing an excellent job looking after your baby already. No worries...God bless.

Hope your bb get well soon! What I learn from books is that:
1. It's not advisable for bb to consume food with meat when he is having fever or diarrhea. You may make the tangerine peel congee.
2. Drink water
3. Get enough sleep

he has fever last night again but not too serious ... just a bit over 38c ... a bit diarrhea today ... eats less than normal but still ok ... temp in day time trends to normal
according to the doc ... takes 3 days medicine & stop ... see if the fever will gone ... if no, need to see doc again ... i didn't give him fever medicine this evening n see how's he doing tonight ... if fever presists ... will see doc tomorrow ...
his diarrhea isn't too serious ... so, i didn't get the salt sachets fr doc ... doc also said milk will make him diarrhea ... so, needs to dilute it ... actually, if he don't drink milk, he won't drink water ... also, since he's diarrhea, i'm not dare to give him juice
hi dicgelbb, o ... i have to stop giving meat then since i used to give him meat/veges in his congeen ... however, can i use the meat soup to make the congee then !!?

Actually, I don't have much experience and I get the information from books, internet and BK mamas!! You'd better just give BB "pure" congee in order to let his digestion system a good rest. Take care!!

my baby is getting better already ... no fever yesterday n diarrhea has gone ... however, red rashes coming out on his body ... i remember the doc said it will be like this when the sick is going to the end ...
melbby , it's good to know your bb is getting better. I guess those red rashes are "玟瑰疹". Some BK mamas say the red rashes will last for three or four days. He'll be ok!!!
