twin pump help to increase milk production

i've brought Avent single elec. pump, used it for a month but the milk pumped out was not enough for feeding my baby. i tried a lot of methods, drinks and food, but no significant improvement until i change to use the twin elec. pump last week.

there's another topic posting on bk suggesting pump and feed at the same time will help to increase milk production, i guess the logic is same as twin pump but i haven't try that before. becoz it's quite difficult to manager the baby and pumping work together, esp my daughter is quite naughty.

so for all mama have less milk problem, i highly recommand to try twin pump.

Really, I want to try. Now, I am using Avent Manual pump and dont know what pump should buy and try. Any recommendation?? You use Avent twin pump??

Same as you, I cannot handle the pump and feed my baby at the same time. I want to rent Medela Lactin No. 1, but I am afriad that it only gives me little or no improvement, and the $$ is quite expensive, so, now is 15/16 not sure rent it or not. :cry:

if u are using avent manual, i think u should rent avent electric coz the existing assessories can fit into the electric one, u just have to buy another one set assessories, then u can use the twin function of the electric pump. pls confirm with the technician before u rent.

i rent Avent elec twin pump at bb asia, it's about $820 for 3 months and $270/per month after the 3rd month rental, $3500 deposit, $400 for 2 pump sets which are the clear plastic parts include 1 4oz & 1 9oz bottle with size no. 1 plastic nipple, cap & screw cap for milk storage. detail can be found on the website http://www.bbasia.com.hk/.

I have used 2 pumps together but not twin pump in the office. I used Avent Manual + Medela electirc. It is a perfect! It is so effective and efficient. Halfing the pumping time! It is great!

For those want to feed and pump together, I suggest you pump one side for 5-10min first. Then feed the baby on the other side while continuosly to pump on the same side. Why doing this? It helps to stimulate the second let down which will increase the milk pump and clear all the milk.

If you find it difficult to manage, I suggest you to let your baby sit on the bed but between your legs. Place your pump behind your leg. So your two legs fix your baby's position while he cannot kick the pump. Because one of your leg has separeted the pump and your baby.

I use two single Medela pumps simultaneously. Pumping two sides at the same time increases my milk production, as compared to pumping one side sequentially.

although i haven't try bands other than Avent, i just Avent is the best becoz of the steady and self controlled pumping pressure and massage effect that stimulated by the soft plastic breast pad.
