Don't worry about it. Even thought it is true, unfortunately 18 August is not Hong Kong holidays therefore she is not allow to have a day off because...too bad, if they work in HK they have to follow the rules and systems of Hong Kong.
But My Yan ask to have Holiday on that Day.
She said that it just like the Indonesia New Year, which is exceptional holiday she should enjoy. So.. shall I let her off / repay cash to her
It is all depends on how well she can perform her job and how much you trust her i.e. how much you want to entertain her request.
Personally I wouldn't because I always give my helper an impression that I do everything according to the laws of Hong Kong so that they would not raise greedy requests.
