for me, since I had a bit trouble at week 5 (the dr. cant find my foetal sac.. and told me to wait for miscarrage!) and then made appointment for another dr. immediately.. so everyone knows already.. but I still have not given formal notification to HR. I wanna wait until passing week 12. I had one week sick leave for "threatened abortion" already!! =P so.. I think HR knows anyway.
my advise is, if you dont have heavy duty in you job, just relex! it's not that urgent.

When you have doctor certificate, you can find the expected delivery date on it. The date is important since your company would like to know about when you will plan to take the maternity leave. If you do not have the doctor certificate, it is hard for them to make any remarks/ records.
