my son got middle-ear infection when he was 10-month old in the U.S.. at that time, he got high fever (over 103c) even after taking medicine, cried very hard (didn't let people touch his ears) and couldn't sleep at night. i brought him to the hospital and the doctor there gave him 10-days of antibiotics. he reminded me to let him finish all the antibiotics. he also gave my son some eardrops but he said that was not for killing virus but would make baby feel better. moreover, it is very common for babies to have diarrhea after taking antibiotics.
