My new maid has reported for duty for 3 days. She has finished contract in Singapore with Indian family and took care of a 3-year-old boy. However, her performance showed me that she just like the first day doing housemaid, say doing everything, keeping everywhere untidy, taking care of my child carelessly, bad cooking skills, etc... It is hard for me to communicate with her, as her English standard is not that my expectation (but it was OK during interview). Also, it is necessary for me to remind her again, again and again for the points but turned out she still forgot.
I then asked my sister's maid to train her, she hasn't cooperative with her but showed her a long face. She showed us that she was not sincere to learn but asked my sister's maid to do for her. Both my hubby and I are very fearful of giving our son to her after my leave.
We are so missing our old maid. We were enjoyable in the past 2 years coz she was familiar with our family and could take good care of my little boy (3 years old too). She could also put 100% effort in doing works and was willing to improve after my reminder. Even she has long face sometimes in a way that not agreeing of my reminders, she could handle all the things independently.
Why she left us coz she would get marry after the contract end, but turned out she would stay in HK for finding another job (she is still under-employed now). The reason is she has not enough money to get marry. Actually, I was very angry about her fluctuation but I let her go at last.
The main point is that she had with her so-called cousin (I wonder she is an agent), who was a bad guy, could take some maids doing illegal jobs (I heard from my domestic agency). So I wonder my old maid would turn bad after with her cousin.
It makes me so fluctuated for requesting her back or employ another maid. My son wants her much and cried seriously in the past 3 nights. It makes my heart broken and felt guilty to my son for letting her go. On the other hand, I am frightened that she character has been changed.
Thank you all for your reply. Both old and new maid are Indo. The old one is very smart and clever who can help me a lot, but she has her own weak points, i.e. show her long face and has her own character, it is uncontrollable....
The new one is very stupid and needs to be reminded for every parts. She always oversight the minor things, say put a bowl of orange on the dirty table, without mopping and sweeping the floor under TV carbinet, etc. I am going to lay her off, but my agency asked me to try for at least 1-2 months. You know, I can't stand it!!
