Just came back from Bangkok with Baby. He had a great time there, and swam for the first time. It was not as bad as I imagined it would be, and he slept and ate very well, much to my surprise.

long time not chat with u la, could u pls tell me more about your trip? say, how is bb on fight? how about his eating? how to prepare food/milk? how about sleeping arrangement? .......
you are a super mum who trains baby so well and he adjusts so well even during trip.
I also plan to have a trip with bb soon, any tips?
just share with u, my bb sleeps quite well after changing to sleep at her own bedroom, thanks for your previous support and sharing.
Glad to hear our baby is now sleeping well in her own room. I guess it is now much better sleep for our whole family.
I really don't think I am a supermum, but rather that my baby is a relatively "easy" baby who likes sticking to routine.
Now, more from the trip:
For the flight, I gave a dummy for my baby to suck on during takeoff and landing, and he seems quite ok, not affected by the pressure change at all (even though my own ears were hurting a little bit). As this is my first trip with baby, we tried Bangkok as flight time is short, and supply is easy to purchase.
During the flight, baby was not willing to sleep, but we entertained him with toys and things, and fed him a bit of baby food provided by CX.
As his nap time was put off by the flight, we were afraid he was not going to sleep at night, but he was fine.
We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Erawan, which provided us with baby bath tub and other baby "things" which I requested for ahead of time. I bought along baby's bed sheet and bedtime toys, and placed it in the cot provided by the hotel.
As I am reluctant to use a babysitter, there is always one adult staying in the room with baby, while the rest goes out. We try to have dinner early (at 6pm), so baby can go out with us, then go back to room and sleep. As my aunt and mother also came along, we had interconnecting rooms, so whenever baby is in one room, the rest are in the other room.
I asked for a hot water dispensing unit, and some hot water bottles for boiling and cooling water for use with milk and cereal.
As for food, we cooked some noodles and carrots and salmon (bought at the supermarket at the Central World across from the hotel) with a small pot, mixed rice cereal, or asked the hotel to prepare some mashed potatoes with carrots and other veg.
I more or less stick baby to the same nap times, bed times, and meal times, adjusted to Bangkok time. I find that if the nap times and meal times stayed the same, night time sleep was around the same, he just slept around 1 hour less at night, but catched up during the next nap time.
We all enjoyed the trip very much, as it was much better than we expected, and we are already planning where to go next.
I chose afternoon flights. For outgoing, my flight was around 2pm, so I left home after baby's morning nap at 11am, fed him in the airport for lunch, then fed him in the hotel after we checked in.
For the returning flight, because of no available flights, our flight left around 4:30pm, so I did not get back home until 9:30pm, way passed his normal bedtime. However, he seemed to be ok, and was back to schedule the next morning.
I think early afternoon flights are better, based on my baby's schedule, as morning would be quite hard at this moment, since he is usually quite tired, and it would be better to fly when he is more energized.
So glad to hear that many mami did bring BB travel along and without a big problem, I also plan to bring my bb to Bali in Aug. Did u bring the electronic kittle to boil the milk bottle or just the?片 is good enough? How about the water, did u bring the distilled water? if yes, how much did you bring? Sorry for so many questions.
I just brought baby detergent to wash baby's things (baby is off bottle already), and I just use boiling water to rinse before use. As our babies are over one year old, it is really not necessary to sterilize everything according to the books.
I did not bring along any distilled water, because of the flight restriction for liquids. I just used boiled water. Anyway, my baby is drinking cool boiled water at home as well.
