I have a maid leaving.
I just heard from the agency that the Canadian government has released the terms of employing Filipinos. They can get almost double amount of salary and 5 days work only. Each day, the working hours are just 8, so if there is any overtime work, they can get paid. So that's why there are many Filipinos terminate their contract.
Oh, it is such an attractive offer.....

I also know from my friend that her maid (she lied to my friend that she had to visit her daughter but my friend knew from another maid that she went for the test) has just returned to the Philippines to sit for a test applying for work in Canada.

I heard that the agency fee for applying to Canada is much higher than that of Hong Kong's. So usually that they will work for one year more to earn that money so that they can have enough to pay for the fee. Also, they can claim that they have overseas experience too.
