我10年前住係Richmond B.C 架...我18years old 就回流HK, 宜家2008年想帶D仔女回流溫哥華...D friend 同我講話宜家Richmond 超多中國人(比起10年前仲多)....我想我D仔女係一個有D外國人既地方長大..我有個friend 個仔讀緊Richmond B.C 一間小學,,佢話一班只有2-3個外國人...有D仲冇tim....><....
請問各位mommy有冇好既suggestion..我今次回流溫哥華應該係where to live? within B.C is OK.

Richmond 真係超多華人，我係 Ikea 行既時候真係有d混淆自己係未係香港。如果你唔想有咁多華人，你可以考慮下 Maple Ridge，嗰邊d屋又平d，但係唔知你今次回留主要原因係乜，因為仲有其他因素要考慮。

我今次回Richmond, 其實只想找份工, 然後比D仔女係果邊讀書.
我冇乜$$架. Settle down 左就要好快找工做架啦,
請問邊到會easy D 找份工?
Maple Ridge D小學係咪小D華人?

I'm just wondering.....is it really an issue on the proportion of chinese and white ppl living in your area?? Definitely Richmond has alot of Chinese ppl living there but is it really a bad thing? I brought my daughter back to Canada when she was 9 months old and I love it when she speaks so much Chinese. She is now 3 yrs old and she has no problem speaking English, well actually she is fluent in both languages. She now speaks English when she see white ppl and she will speak Chinese when she see chinese ppl. we speaks 100% chinese when we are at home and she knows she needs to speak english when she goes to school.

Maple Ridge 既小學應該會少D華人，因為係小學要上ESL既學生平均都係1%以下，以一間學校500人計，咁都係得5個小朋友。至於揾工做，我好難答你，因為每個人既要求都唔同，不過以家既失業率真係低咗，而且有D低職位既工都請唔到人。不過話說回頭，你要少華人既地方，咁你買嘢可能就無咁方便，同揾工機會可能又少D。

Whether it is easy to find a job or not depends on the type of job you are looking for. For example, if you are looking for financial/insurance/big corporate position, then downtown is the only option... if you want to be an accountant for a small/medium size company, then there are such jobs everywhere... manufacturing type jobs are everywhere too....

How old is your child? If they are still very young, they can catch up very fast in English. So even you live in Richmond, I don't think it's a problem. And it is very convenience that you bring your child to learn other activities. If you live too far away, you will spend too much driving time.

Vancouver economy booming?

Dear mammies,
I used to live in Vancouver too. At my time the finance jobs available are very limited, so I decided to go to Hong Kong. Now I see that the economy in Vancouver is pretty good so I am thinking is this because of the finance market growing? Or other manufacturing businesses booming? What types of permanent jobs are easiest to get except sales?

The worldwide economy is booming is the fact and the unemployed rate for new immigrants are always high. There is no easy job for anyone especially if you have no experience/qualification.
