My daughter had a mole removed by a dermatology specialist when she was 7 or 8. The doctor explained that if the mole is big, must have surgery; if the mole is small, can do it by laser (carbon dioxide). My daughter had it done by laser, under local anaesthetic. It was done in the doctor's office and was finished in about 15 minutes. The price was $2000.
After the "operation", we had to keep her wound clean and dry and out of the sun. The wound healed in a few weeks. After a couple of months, we found that some part of the mole was still there and so we went back to see the doctor. He did laser treatment again, for about 5 minutes but did not charge us any more. The area around the mole has grown to be the same colour as the rest of the skin after about a year. It has been about 2 years and the mole has not grown back. The doctor is at Tsim Sha Tsui. Please p.m. me if you want to know the name.
