I gave birth to my first baby girl at Canossa last year, and will go again this coming November. To me, it's quite good. What do you need to know?

I've been to HK Adventist for eye lasik treatment, but not the natal ward. One of my friends gave birth there and also thinks it is very good.

你可以打電話去 book 個 short tour, 睇吓個 maternity ward 同 delivery room 架
星期一至五都可以去睇架

I stayed in Cannosa for one night because I got bleeding on the 33w. For the delivery, I stayed in HK Advertist Hospital. Both hospitals are good and the nurses are very nice. In compared, Cannosa is relatively old yet the nurses are very professional. HK Advertist is more international and most of the nurses speak good English, that is one of the reasons why lesser mainland China pregnant women went there for delivery.

Besides you also need to consider what rooms that you want to stay. Cannosa has more large room (3 or 6 bed bedrooms) whereas Adventist only has 1 4 x beds room.

I suggest u to go & visit to both hospitals & see which hospital environment u like first. If u go during weekdays, let's go straight because I found that if I make phone call for visit, they will always reject it. However, when I go directly, they are welcome and make the best tour for me.

我5月頭係港安生左,感覺好好.的姑娘好nice同埋好專業,又肯教我地呢的新手媽媽.

開頭都同你一樣, 諗住一係港安,一係嘉諾撒,結果都係決定係港安生,因為我睇過嘉諾撒,佢的房細的逼的, 同埋多的大陸人, 相對會嘈的,不過正如piggy2007所講, 港安只得一間4人房, 成日都會full, 所以基本上都要住雙人房或單人房...anyway, 你可以walk-in去睇下架, 真係唔洗約架,不過最好係weekday o既下午去(因為冇咁繁忙),去到再揾接待處既人安排tour就得架啦!

Thanks so much for all your comments! I called Canossa yesterday, and they did not welcome us to make visit. I am struggling due to the cost at the HK Adventist is higher, and I am thinking whether it's worth. I think I will try walk-in on this Sat. morning 'coz weekday is quite difficult for both of us. Anyway, thanks very much!!

Long time no "talk". I went to see doctor on Wed and needed to confirm hospital booking, so I've decided to keep the HK Adventist booking at last ar. Now I've scheduled c-section on Aug 22 but may try natural delivery if bb arrives earlier than Aug 22. Anyway, I will see you at Lydia's classes on July 18! Don't forget to bring the cushion with you ar! :lol

Since you've given birth at HK Adventist, I'd like to ask you about their services & charges, hope you don't mind.

* Did you have scheduled/emergency c-section (5D/4N) or natural delivery (3D/2N)?
* Did you stay in private / semi-private or ward room?
* How did you find the services of the hospital staff? I heard their nurses are very supportive on nursing but they may have different advices which may cause confusions...
* How much was your total bill?
* Can we (in-patients) get free car-park or with special rate?

Sorry for posting so many questions and really appreciate for your advices! :)

我想請教下, 如果o向假期/ 夜晚生, 係咪Canossa同養和都會收額外錢, 而Canossa係收得多o的o既呢? 而呢樣收費係咪只係適用於開刀呢?

Hi Kleinpunkt,

I am not sure about Canossa but for Sanatorium, I guess the extra charge for non-office hours only applies to c-section deliveries. Say if you want to scheduled a c-section on Sat or Sun, or after their operation hours (ex. midnight or 3am...etc.) then the hospital will charge you a lot more for that.

On the other hand, if you have an emergency (unscheduled c-section), I guess there is no extra charge coz they're already charging higher price for emergency c-section packages.

One thing to note though, is that even if you want a scheduled c-section at a paricular time during operation hours, you should not let the hospital knows that you're scheduling for a good date/time or they will also have a surcharge on that. So my doctor told me that he may book my preferred time for me, but I should not say a word to the hospital staff that "I must give birth sometime between such & such good time or else they will charge me more"!

Wow, your doctor's fee is pretty expensive wor, even after deducting 7K for 兒科醫生, you're still paying 17K to your doctor for natural delivery! Does that include 麻醉師? Did you take epidural?? Thanks again!!!

I delivered my baby at HK Adventist in June. My experience was excellent. Nurses are all very professional and helpful. Environment is neat and quiet too. Since some nurses are English spoken, there are not many mainland China patients there.

I had 5D/4N planned c-section. Charge is about $94K:

Planned c-section charge by hospital - 33K
Doctor's fee - 28K
Doctor's daily visit fee - 9.5K
Anaesthesiologist fee - 9.3K
Paediatic doctor daily visit fee - 9.5K
Miscellaneous (e.g. medicine and others) - 4K
