Hi conniechan,
Your ibstales website is really good to read. At least let us know that there are many people out there coping with IBS, we are not alone.
Have you tried taking the medicine called Duspatalin Retard? It's a good kind of medicine that make your intestines less active, yet, will not cause you to have constipation.
I think you should try to have non-oily diet. Consume more starch and vegetables. You cannot have that many stools to come out in one day.
Cheers.

Hi conniechan,
Duspatalin Retard is prescribed by the specialist doctor. If the doctor diagnosed you as a IBS patient, he should prescribe this medicine for you. I went to a GP once, and he gave me this medicine for a try. According to the specialist at QE, he told me that Duspatalin Retard was a good medicine and it's the first step for IBS to control the bowel movement and tummy pain; however, GP seldom prescribe this medicine to patients. Therefore, I am surprise that your doctor who diagnosed you as a IBS patient didn't give you this kind of medicine.
Based on what you had said, I believe that you should have cut the consumption of dairy products and oily food long time ago. Eat steam food, boiled vegetables, etc. And see if your bowel movement can be under control, at least, will not need to go to toilet for 3 to 4 times a day. Do not take so many pills that are bought at drug stores. Eat natural food. I think your nutrionist friend knows better, right?
