about now i'd recommend. cos some pre-nursery starts at 12 mth. the good ones have waiting list ie 6-12 mths. also gives u some time to do site visits.

different schools ve different application procedures and period.

better do research now and check the application period and procedure of those in your district or those u would like your baby to study. for contact no. and basic info. of the kinders in hk, pls read http://kgp.proj.hkedcity.net/chi/

The website is very useful. But if I don't know where I will go to live when bb at age of 2 or so, how can I select the right school? Does anyone live in Kowloon knows that if there is any kindergarten got a better chance to go to 喇沙?

喇沙 is a "lucky draw" school. that means the best way to enter is to move to the place in school net 41 (i.e.
九龍塘、筆架山道、廣播道、九龍城、etc see http://www.edb.gov.hk/index.aspx?langno=1&nodeID=1505

of course, if ur husband studied in the primary session bf, ur baby will ve an extra 10 pts, not mentioning the extra 5 pts if u r a catholic)

Thank You, it is very useful. Do you prefer International school or Traditional Kindergarden? I am afraid, if I start International at K1-K3, it is difficult to go back to some traditional Primary school like DBS.

CCKG is a good kindy to enter famous local schools @ kln tong.

1st of all, CCKG only has K2 and K3.

2ndly, it's v. difficult to enter CCKG. i know many many smart kids not being able to enter. rumors said they select the parents as well.

anyway, it's almost the "basic step" for all parents letting their kids to try the CCKG interview if they go for local curriculum.

小叭係06年12月5日出世時重3.23kgs,1個月4.55kgs,2個月6.40kgs,3個月7.72kgs,4個月8.20kgs,5個月8.80kgs, 6個月10.00kgs, 7個月9.55kgs, 8個月10.00kgs, 9個月10.16kgs, 10個月10.45kgs, 11個月10.91kgs
(4個月第一次反身, 5個月坐, 8個半月爬, 9個半月出牙(上面兩只),10個月出牙(上面兩只)12個月7只牙, 11.81 kgs

細叭係09年1月26日出世, 體重6磅半.
4個半月轉身, 5個月識坐, 7個半月出第一只牙(下面)

y. particularly the kid may ve acquire the required Chinese standard and he/she may get used to the "free" learning env't, may ve difficulties even if able to enter the P1.

my husband prefers int'l stream. i m still thinking how to solve the Chinese learning problem.

yes, they will select parents too. rumor also says they like parents are doctors...

My son born at Dec 2006, when I start to apply N1?
Do you suggest any good N1 which have linkage with K1, ....? I only know KM, and YC.

o. that means u r targeting those in kowloon tong, right?

I ve friend whose kid studied in KM N1. He was later admitted to St. Cat. K1 (but we all guess the reason is he's living in Kowloon Tong)

another friend whose kid studied in KM K1-3 was then admitted to Raimondi.

and i know a kid studying in YC kinder was accepted by CHOI KAI YAU . but i don't know anyone studying the romper programme or twos programme there.

regarding N1 in kowloon tong, ppl also recommend HK Pre-school. but as far as I know, it's rather difficult for small kid to enter HKPS (and also KM- though KM will be a bit easier) as normally by Sep, the N1 class will be full.

The kids in CCKG have very high-standard in English... I heard most of them can read 50+ pages of English book!

Some of the SUPER kids study both in AM & PM Kinder >>> one is intl. kinder and the other one is traditional famous kinder for N1/ K1...

HKPS might have chance to be moved, their lent contact just renew one year to 2008...

well, one of the kids i know failing the interview of CCKG was reading the series of Roald Dhal at the age of 4. u know the books r recommended for kids at 8 even in US!!

and she is now 6, finished the HP series at the same pace of mine. (my friend already found me crazy to "eat" the HP7 within 8 hrs.)

she was studying in HKPS and will be admitted to a local famous primary school this Sep.

I am sorry there are a lots of abbreviations for these kinder but I don't know their full name. Could any mum tell me the full names for CCKG, YC, KM, etc. Thanks!
