I followed my hubby to London to work before. But I got old friends there (4 of them over ten years, and 4 about 2 years).
If you are really worried, you may try to find a job for yourself. In that case, you will meet lots of new friends.
You may go to chinatown and talk to people around you. Maybe because my daughter is very outspoken, she talked to strangers (blacks, caucasian, chinese) everywhere and we got quite a lot of info this way.
I familiarized myself with the country on my house hunting trip, so that when I went there I got everything well sorted out.
When will you have your house hunting trip and how much time in between your actual departure?
When I was in London, I was very very busy as within 1 year, 10 friends/relatives of mine came over and stayed in my place.
You can invite your friends to go and visit you too. You will be busy showing them around.
At that time, the company offered a house hunting trip for all the family members, I think it's about a week, virgin upper class
Then when we moved to London, the company pays relocation fees to ship all our belongings, and also upper class tickets for all family members, but we need to pay the ticket of our maid. They arranged 1 month free housing in the centre of London and we found our apartment within that month.
My hubby came back from business trip a couple of months ago from Amsterdam. 大麻 is legal and can be ordered at cafe. Don't get addicted:lol:
