400D just had a big discount, while 40D is still at frying price.

for new hands, start with 400D lah, even if you want to upgrade later on, it won't lose much money if you sell the 400D body. The new price for 400D now is very good.

I once asked you about the pq of 35/2 and you said you did not have any impression as compare to 85/1.8.

I am telling you now that PQ of middle price lens of N are almost the same.

You get more as you pay more.

35/2 = 24-85=70-300. 85/1.8 seems a bit sharper.

No, it should not be a big decision. The cost of D300 is at the most the cost of one of your lens = little grey 5 ONLY.

I heard that they are doing specials on 400D + 17-85is, for only $6800. Which is a very good deal. Because the lens itself already worth more than 4k.

If someday Nikon is selling D40 for $2.5K, I am sure to buy one.

To be honest, I don't like the color of 35/2. The only advantage this 35/2 shows is the weight and size. Besides that, 28-70 can cover all.
