hi, my friend did it before and she is happy with her helper. I think it is on a case by case basis but at least it gives you more candidates to choose. Helpers advertised in the Xpat website usually like to work for foreign families as they generally pay more to their helpers, provide better living environment and offer more reasonable working hours. Hence, you need to be very clear in terms of your requirements for your helper and what you can offer. They can be selective and good helpers are usually more selective!! Good luck!
I through this website locate helper. Had a few interviews, my comments of the site is there are more phi than ind adv. phi really looking for foreign families. Likely my hubby is a foreigner, so I receive a few calls a days. They will ask you your nationally and no. of family member before set up meeting. A lot of them are finding job 1 month before finish the contract, those phi will be more selective as they have time. Those being released by employer in the middle of contract are more eager to close the interview and want to be hired. But most of the maids use this channel of finding job are more aware of their right. Good things is generally they are more sensible people, but also means you need to respect their need. So far I met some quality interviewee yesterday and today. Planning have contract sign with one of them. Wish you good lucky.
