Hi,

My doctor is 李福謙 and I'll have c-section this November at 養和 (semi-private room).

I think he is good and professional, so even if he's very expensive, I think it's worth it.

I've tried 2 other doctors before (about the same price) but I don't like them because they lack the patience to explain things to me. But Dr. Li is very friendly and will explain things in details.

I heard his 開刀 is ok and not painful. 我都好怕痛呢!!

As for his charge, based on my semi-private room, surgeon fee is HK$25,000 (if 大房 it's $17,000 and private room is $35,000), and 巡房費 is HK$1,500 per day (if 大房 it's $800 per day and private room is $2,500 per day). 養和 package is HK$25,200 (5D4N) or HK$27,000 (6D5N). So you can add up the fees to estimate the total cost.

I'm also seeing Dr Li now as I have also changed from andther doctor who will charge even more than Dr Li for C-Section delivery ($22000). I saw many good comments about him from Baby Kingdom and other forums as well.

BTW, did you have your morphology or structural ultrasound at his clinic or he will refer you to another doctor? If so, who would be the doctor?

Nice to meet your here at Baby Kingdom. So we are seeing the same doctor. :D

Well, I didn't have a separate or specific structural ultrasound because for every checkup, Dr. Li already does the structural check for me (about the heart, the liver, skin, head, lungs, kidney, fingers, legs etc). So, no need for a separate structural scan because we can see everything from each checkup. But I did have a 4D ultrasound at another clinic referred by Dr. Li (at Central St. George Building Dr. Macor Wan or Dr. Lam) because I want to see clearly the face of my baby and Dr. Li doesn't have 4D equipment.

When is your 預産期? Will you have natural delivery or c-section? Which hospital have you chosen?

My EDD is next year March and I'm going to Canossa in Central. It's going to be my 2nd baby. My son will be 2 years old this month. As for my 1st pregnancy, the doctor referred me to see another doctor when i was about 20 weeks pregnant for the structural ultrasound (2D) to check if the baby had any health problems, i.e. heart, liver, etc.... So do you think Dr Li is using the 2D ultrasound facility at his clinic? Did he refer you to see Dr Macor Wan for the 4D?

I've c-section by Dr. Li 2 mths ago and he is fantastic!!!
I've no pain at all during the whole process and afterwards. Highly recommend Dr. as he is v professional, caring and detail-minded. I think his consultation fee is not that expensive and I really think it is value for money.

Yes. Dr. Li is using 2D at his clinic. And for 4D, he referred me to Dr. Macor Wan's clinic. :D

I am now seeing Dr. Li too and I think his charge is worthwhile though really a bit expensive ($1200 - 1400 each time). I have seen another "popular" female doctor at Causeway Bay before, though her charge is much lower (just 400-600 each time), but I need to wait for over an hour for an consultation time of just a few minutes (a few seconds only for ultrasound). On the other hand, Dr. Li is much more patient and will spend more time to answer your queries. His ultrasound is much more detailed and will scan all organs. So I agree that you may not need to do another structured ultrasound.

I will delivery at Canossa in Feb next year (probably c-section). Hope that I will have the "painless" experience too.

Actually my previous doctor's consultation is also about $1500 but I find him too cool and not caring enough.. That's the reason I have decided to change to Dr Li. I think most of the good doctors will charge at least $1000-$1500.. But some of them the delivery charge will be as high as $40000 min.

So Dr Li's charge is not cheap but not over priced, I guess.

Dr. Li's delivery charge for both natural birth and c-section is $17000 for non-private room. I think it's reasonable.

For Canossa, have you booked and paid deposit?
Actually I have the similar EDD with you in early March but since I will do C-section, I scheduled the surgery to be done in late Feb. Dr. Li has helped to book Canossa for me nearly 2 months ago since he said Sanitorium's booking in March next year already full and he afraid I can't secure a bed there if booked later. But he said we can only pay deposit to the hospital after 24 weeks when everything gets stable.

yes, I have booked canossa but haven't paid yet. hmm, my EDD is very similar to yours and i'm going for c-section as well as I had c-section last time. so no choice..

how many weeks are you pregnant now? I'm going to be 17 weeks end of the week.

I will be in 17 weeks tomorrow. We have really close date bor.. hehe. Don't know whether we will meet in Canossa (I have booked 3-people room).
