請問各位媽媽,由於我已申請移民,移民顧問公司表示我將於9月中可以進行驗身,而我又好想要bb,故我想請問各位媽媽我在溫哥華生bb好定在香港好呢?

1. 如在香港生bb, 家人可以照顧我,及買野補身都方便d;
2. 如在溫哥華生bb,萬一bb有事,加拿大政府可以免費照顧佢;

I support autism acceptance!

your situation is exactly the same as mine two years ago. I chose to give birth to my second son in HK before we landed in Canada. Now he can have both resident rights in HK and in Canada, enjoying both benefits.

We did the medical exam in Jan 2005 and the visa approved in Jan 2005 with expiry in Jan 2006. And I got pregnant in Feb 2005, gave birth to it in Hong Kong in Nov 2005. Then I apply to the Canada govt for "change of family status" in my current application (not a new application for the new baby) in Nov 2005. They updated the new family member in my application in December 2006, we did meidcal exam all over again and Canada reissued the visa in Jan 2006 with exipry in Jan 2007. So we all landed in the summer 2007. The process is very smooth.

Now I want to have anyother baby, it's more problematic as I have landed but not yet a citizen. If I give birth in Hong Kong, I have to do the immgration application process all over again for the new baby. If I give birth in Canada, it may not get a HK permanant resident ID card even the parents are HK permanant residents. I asked the HK immigration staff, they said the policy is getting stricter and stricter. I still cannot make up my mind yet.

So you'd better "act" fast before you land la.

I immigrated to Canada since I was young. I am already a citizen. So my situation is different. But in my opinion, the HK citizenship wil be more and more important than ever. It allows us to travel freely to China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Hyberchiu is right. The immigration policy in Hong Kong is sticker and sticker. Let me give an example: I have a few cousins who was born in The US in the 80's and 90's last century. One of the cousin, she got her "child" HKID when she turned 12 in 1998. She had no problem to apply the Home Returning Permit to go China. However, her brother who turned to 12 in 2005, was not able to apply it for some reason. He needs to apply the China Visa whenever he goes to china until now. It all depends on which citizenship is more important.
