Really want to know is there any chances I can transfer a maid from HK to Aus,what are the processes ???

I checked with Australia Consulate and they said "Not allow". Only can stay 1 month for travel purpose.

Wow, your son has grown a lot! I can certainly understand why you would want a maid to help you out. It's so full on looking after my 18-month old that I'm "dead" at the end of each day, not to mention you have to look after two babies.

Back to the subject, as far as I know, Immigration Dept allows two groups of visa holders to sponsor overseas domestic helpers:

1. holders of diplomatic visas
2. senior executives who are in charge of an Australian office of an overseas organisation. The executive must hold a subclass Business (Long Stay) visa (subclass 457). Independent Executive Further Application Onshore (subclass IE 457) visa holders are not eligible to sponsor a domestic worker.

Lets see if other moms/dads can shed some light on this.

Friends of mine told me is impossible.

I want have a maid too, cos i got two kids to look after by my own, they are 3 and half years old, and one and half years old.

Thats sad if I can't have one !!!Cause a friend of mine applied for a maid from Hk to Spain with them, and the government let them~~~((How Nice??))

And I will try, because my hubby's good friend work in Immigration,maybe she will know a lot more than us...And also I remember she tlod my hubby if you can prove you can sponsor the maid and all the expenses,like health cover, super ...etc ... they have to let you!!! I will double check again!!!

Kids grow up just the way too quick, my hubby always say "when you open your eyes in the morning one day, he will be gone with his own life.Thats why you have to make sure spend a lot of time with them", which i agree!!haha!!!

wow, it is so good if my HK maid can go with us to oz. We plan to migrate to oz in early 09 and at that time, my kids will only be 3 years and 1 year old. I will "die" if i have to look after them full time alone.

Can you share some information to me too?
