I was constipated too before. My doctor recommended me at least drink 8 to 10 cups water per day. I forced myself to drink a lot of water although my stomach was really upset. It seemed useful but not much. I ate much vetgetable and fiberous food, but they didn't alleviate my constipation. A week ago, I suffered most serious constipation (I saw most blood when I cleaned up my butt) and then I drank prume juice. It was very useful because it can make your boo boo very soft. I would like to remind you that you just need to drink 8oz per day. I hope your constipation will get better soon.
