I fired my maid 2 days ago, since it is my husband who signed her, my husband was not in HK when we fired her, she refused to sign the termination letter and refused to take the salary. She said it must be the employer who can fire her. I then called my friend as the witness and signed a document in front of her that I had verbally informed her about the termination and she had refused to settle the paymen with me. In fact, I asked the maid to sign the document but she refused, that was why I called my friend to be the witness on site. This will protect us from being sued by her later that we had not paid her. She had left, and next day, my agent called her but her phone was off , we can not get hold of her. But the agent said to me, as long as we have reported to the immigration, an agent to be the witness that we are trying to settle the payment with her is fine. By the way, she refused to take the Cebu Airway ticket becuase it is a cheap airline to them, but I said to her you have no choice. She has been working in Hong Kong for 20 years, she thought she can play games with me. So, my advise to all BK mom, do not hire local overseas maid who has been working in HK before, they are very tricky and inch.
