my bun suddenly asked me to sign a reference letter for her to certify that she's worked for me for the past 12 mths. her contract will end in oct this year. she told me it's for her son school etc....

i think she's applying for canada....

what shall i do?

不寫給她.你跟她說所有reference letter 是在工人完約時才會給與工人.

Of course no la, 100% for apply to Canada, you can tell her even my son apply to a new school, no need to provide my working experience and refernce right. Don't trust her ar!

there's nothing i can stop her from applying to canada right?

how long notice will i get? me & my husband both working if she leaves in 1 mth, i will die!!! u think i should start looking for a new maid?

reference letter係工人離職至會寫。

我未見過入學要父母工作證明，仲要係past 12 months，咁house wife係咪d仔女唔駛讀書先？！

如果工人真係走，咪搵鐘點／托兒／家人照顧住先，無話唔得既。有d野妳都control唔到。

i know she doesn't need one to apply for canada but to submit afterwards, usually takes few mths to process, in the mean time prepare to look for a new one instead of renew contract w her.

佢一定係申請去外國, 你可以問清楚佢, 叫佢唔好講大話, 因為你要時間去安排新工人, 我相信佢要走你都唔需要留, 返而佢仲留係度時唔好攪差個關係(如果一向唔差的話), 起碼唔使怕佢對bb做壞事, 其次你自己要開始密識新工人, 據我前工人申請去加拿大的經驗, 申請幾個月就會批架啦, 你要留意

如大家平日關係唔錯, 不如同佢坐低開心見誠傾啦. 真係申請往加拿大的話, 叫佢比封信通知你佢將會離職, 生效日期會視乎移民局幾時批, 再作另議. 咁嘅情況之下, 我會比封certificate of employment佢, 冇工作comment的, 只說明佢係under我的employment, 應該幾時完約等.

如大家關係麻麻, 我會唔出聲著手搵人replace佢, 搵到就先下手為強炒佢, 即捕即解囉.

工人平日表現係好, 佢有好發展的話, 我都唔會阻佢發達; 如果表現唔好人又衰格, 我當然唔會咁順攤囉~

ellawyc - that's a v good idea. cos my maid has been v good to us & our bb. we all like her v much. i totally understand the situation & would do the same if i were her.

it's just a working mother like me, it will cause a lot of disruption to me & my family lor.

from her, i simply just want 3 month notice maybe, best to have handover period.
