I sure understand yr feeling and don't worry so early as this is the advise from the mothers here at baby kingdom.
My baby boy have a similar case with yrs. The difference is that my baby boy is 2 months old and he failed the 1st test at the nursery centre. (i did it at there as my baby was born at Tsuen Wan Advertist and there was no such test for new born there). He is going to have the second test the next Wed.
There are many reasons for the failing. Some people are just born with not very sesnsitive ears and some babies' ears may be blocked by the 羊水. And there are so many other factors too. Actually i posted the same problem as yrs two weeks ago. You can go and take a look of the replies and you can find a lot of useful help there.
Anyway, don't worry too much as it is still too early to tell now.
Good luck to both of our babies!
Love,
Emily

No need to worry wow because my son got the same problem. He failed in the 1st test and I did not bring him for the second test. It was because the nurse told me that my son got too much 耳屎 and therefore affected the result. Also, my son's breathing sound is too strong which also affected the result. If your baby can give you response when you talk to him, you don't need to worry la.

my daughter failed twice. The test taken in MCHC (mother Child Health Centre) is called OAE. You can ask them to refer your BB to CAC (Child Assessment Centre) for further testing. The CAC will usually take OAE again and see if other test such as ABR, is needed. Yet, the waiting time is so long.
Since I am so worried, I book an assessment in St. Teresa Hospital for a more accurate test called ABR.
