網上近日瘋傳一段美國霍士電視台的新聞報道片段，當中包括曾經在列根時代任職美國國防部，現任職美國國防部顧問的白邦瑞（Michael Pillsbury）的訪問。在訪問中，主持人提及北京媒體近日指斥美國華府介入香港事務，並問到白邦瑞這是否華府的錯，白邦瑞直認華府有參與其中（we are partially involved），指雖然不全是美國的錯，但該國在香港有具規模的領事館，並有透過美國國家民主基金會提供數以百萬(美元)計的資金，資助香港民主活動。
