I'm using reusable nappies for my son since newborn. But not pea pods, it's the other brand.
As I know, this all-in-one style ( no need cover ) takes longer to dry up. You may need to consider the dry time for washed nappies. It may take 2 to 3 days for these super absorbing nappies to completely dried up if line dry. You may need to use drying machine or buy enough no. of nappies for use when the washed are not dried.
Actually the new way of washing reusable nappies is no need soaking. Just dispose the poo and keep the soiled nappies in a covered bucket. You can add some soda powder into it to absorb the smell.
As baby is now 15 months old, he's not lying down for easy nappy change any more. It's a bit difficult to change cloth nappies. So I use disposable nappies sometimes.
And the cost of each cloth nappy is not cheap. You may need to consider how long you will still need nappy for baby, and how many of them you need. The way of drying. All of them add to the cost.
But I'm still very happy with the cloth nappies, as they seldom leak, and I can change as often as I like without costing more everytime.
By the way, from where you can buy pea pods in HK?
