請問有沒有好的搬運公司介紹？我不需要貨櫃,因為不是太多野要運過去,只是太多囡囡的雜物及日用品。

Hi Vanessamom,

I used Asian Express two years ago. My experience with them were good. Even so, I heard one of the mummy in BK, had bad experience with them. On the safe side, u may want to quote a few shipping company and pick the one that u are most comfortable with.

我昨天問過Asian Express,$13,000 (他們說有20個橙箱的size),其實我都唔識估所有玩具,雜物,衣服等....加起來會有多少箱？你那時是包貨櫃的嗎？

澳洲那邊有甚麼是很貴的,需要買甚麼過去呢？Ths!

你好! 其實澳洲什麼都貴, 連洗頭水都貴, 我覺得如果你特別喜歡用TEMPO紙巾那你便要買一些了, 因為我不見有得買.
我本想運一貨櫃去, 但我已有床,梳化了, 其他如木製的傢俱又要蒸薰,很麻煩成本又高. 所以傢俱我打算在澳洲買.
但煮具,刀比香港貴, 所以我會在香港買過去.

The Asian Express Movers in Hong Kong 's contact number is Tel:2893-1000. http://www.aemovers.com.hk . And yes they will make delivery to your home in Australia.

Please take note my experience was two years ago and for the safe side, please make a few other quotes for price and service comparison. Hope u could choose a good courier to smoothen your moving process!

I read about the 蒸薰 of wooden furiture, I want to ask you something on this:

1.what actually 蒸薰 is?
2. what will be the effects, esp the side effects, on both
the wood and people using the furiture?
3. Will the Custom charge me anything on 蒸薰?

Hope it's not too late. I'm planning my packing to Oz as well. But the logistic company is chosen by my husband's company as it's paying for us. The size allowed is not big enough, so we'll pack only the heavy stuff.

For the kid's cloth, I'd rather to bring them alone with us (on the flight to Oz) as I want the cloth be cleaner. For toys, they're usally light but big... so bring alone or surface mail some. I heard from my friend that surface mail 10 kg to UK (NOT Oz) costs only HK$3xx., so cheap.

Hi! Ladies,

For information sharing~

I quoted 8 movers companies and I found that Asian express and Unigroup are pricing reasonable. Plus, these 2 companies are used by my relatives and friends before. But I'll be pick AE, coz their unit rate is cheaper!

Also, I asked about why they (AE) didn't quote Fumigation fee and they explained this is charged by AUS (it depends on AUS customs "randomly").

嘻嘻嘻！因為呢度既媽咪同親友比資料我既~~ 所以有8間 quote~ 哈哈哈！我一口氣約架！

我所理解Fumigation fee煙燻費，他們quote既價錢各有不同 around $450~$800不等，視乎我地運既尺數去估計。唔quote呢個fee既果間mover 解釋，此費並不同Quarantine inspection A$385，因為呢項係一定要我地比的。 Fumigation fee就睇o下我地好唔好彩喇！或者我地marked既stock lists內容佢地有懷疑，就會charge我地架喇。所以佢地唔覺得唔需要在HK做先，因為始終AUS Customs果邊都有機會要做fumigation既~

我問o左其中一間有quote F. fee，佢話我地既貨可以在HK燻o左先~ 會出到張Certificate，等AUS Customs果邊睇到就對我地既貨reliable一些，清關時會快點。我相信都有佢道理，因為海關有時都會睇o下邊間係logistic company, records 好咪清關快點，e.g. 有d Big name mover comany, like "Santx Fx"、"Crxwn"等等 ---> 佢地quote 既unit rate... 真係好唔同，都真的幾貴呀！

我只係知咁多，睇o下你覺得清唔清楚啦！其實你打電話問佢地mover company 都得架！

Just check out with post office, if ship the parcel to Sydney by airmail is 20kg - HK$1225 and surface mail is 20kg - HK$375. I will ship all my daughter's story books by surface mail, it may take 2 months to deliver. Same as you, I think I will pack all the clothes with us because I want to keep them clean.

Have you also check the Qantas? They have a migration promotion which can offer you to carry 40kg per person.

wow! A great news! Book? Maybe I'll have to ship the books as well. About the Quantas promotion, is the ticket price more expensive? I've to fly in Aug., the ticket price will be very high.

Are you going to depart in July? Hope we can see each other in Sydney soon. I plan to live in the Upper/ lower North (but NOT Chatswood). What's your plan?

I've checked with Santa FX, the person says 蒸薰 will be done by sulphur. And should not have undesirable effects on either human or furniture... except it must have a bad smell.

I think the price of Qantas is always similar to Cathay, but if you travel in Aug, the price must be much higher in that high season. You can go to the Qantas (hk) website to find the promotion, you need to apply a card two weeks before you leave and you will get that extra kg offer. My family will go to au at the end of this month, it is the time to count down now.

We will live with my mother-in-law for several months, and will find out place to move later.

We also checked with "Columbia" before, they told us not to ship all kinds of food because food is not good after using 蒸薰！
