I had birth control pills for 16 days before starting the stimulation. The BCP is to suppress all follicles in the ovaries so that they are all about the same size. Then when stimulation starts, all the follicles can grow at about the same rate. No one is too big. If you have one grows very very fast while the other are still small, you cannot have that many eggs. Because once a follicle reaches about 18 mm, you must have the 36 hours "trigger shot" for egg retrieval. However, the small ones are not mature yet.
