totally agree with what iamfine said. many people just buy a house that they are not affordable. the monthly payment for mortgage should be 30% of total income. If u can't afford it, buy a house that is not so expensive. otherwise, u will regret when the house price deeply drops. Take the experience of 1997. Location location location are the most important criteria of buying a house. not the house club. Take a friend's example: bought a house in fan ling at $3 million in 1997. not only half price of it. Can't see any treand to rise back to her buying price. Another friend bought a house at the same price in Hong Kong Island, now back to his buying price. See the difference? My advice is: buy a house that u are affordable to pay for mortgage and in good location.
