I'm living in Houston, but in the Energy Corridor area~
The housing market in Sugar Land area is very active, and a decent single family house with reasonable pricing is hard to find (need to act fast as there will be several bidders). First and foremost is to find a place to live in your desire area before the summer, as you need the closing statement and utility bills to enroll your son in the local middle school.
Sugar land has a really great school district but a very competitive one, because it has a very high Asian population (Indian and Asian). Highway 59's traffic is usually terrible during the traffic hours, so please put it in consideration if your or your spouse has to work in downtown or medical center area.
I never mind the rain from the sky, as long as I have the sun in your eyes~
