Athough I do not have two maids, I know some of my friends got two maids in 1 house. Most of the maids are sisters or relatives, then they can be peacefully get along with each other.
I think if the two maids are both "a" shoulder and cannot get along well with each other, you will be so annoying that they argue all day and make so much noise. But if the two maids are very friend and close, then you will be afraid that if one day they "play tricks" together, you will be very trouble.
Thanks for all of you. As I am expecting a baby soon at that time my daughter only is 1.5 years old. I am afraid that my existing Philp. maid cannot handle alone. Therefore I am thinking about looking for another one. I have the folllowing and hope all of you may offer some information to me.
1) Is it better to have 2 Philp. maid or 1 Philp. and 1 Indonesian?
2) As my house is not big, only 2 rooms. 1 for us and 1 for my daughter and maid. Does this cause any difficulties to apply for one more maid?
3) If I am going to look for one more Philp. Shall I find by myself or ask my existing maid to look for me. She is very good to my daughter and is a responsible one.
Thanks for all of your advise.
(a) should better 2 bun buns and not one of each nationality, they will never mix and you will end up with one maid or no maid.
(b) you can, there is no rule that maid should occupy one bedroom by her own. They can share or share with your girl.
(c) this is a tricky question, if you ask your maid to introduce another maid and eventually you employ others, then it will damage your relationship with her. However if you employ the one chosen by her, then she will dominate the situation and the concern that the other BK mom mentioned that 'one day they will play tricks on you' may likely happen and happen earlier than later. (there are so few good maids in hk now that i totally loss my confidence over them. Of course, I am not saying that your maid is not good but you know bun bun is a big actress and pretender and they can change face every minute.
I suggest you employ a part time local helper to help you out in addition to the existing bun bun. You will find that it ends up cheaper although they are paid by hourly rate. If you ask them to come in say three hours a day for a full month, normally 3000-3500 will do.

it is very similar to my case. When my 2nd child was born, my girl was only 14 months old.
---
after my 2nd bb was born, i employed an auntie of my current maid who is a Filipina.
I am afraid that my existing Philp. maid cannot handle alone--- they can do it
I remember that one BK mother said " two maids are not equal to two maids" actually "two maids equal to 1.5 maid"
1) Is it better to have 2 Philp. maid or 1 Philp. and 1 Indonesian? ---- it depends on your luck and the personalities of the maid(s)
2) As my house is not big, only 2 rooms. 1 for us and 1 for my daughter and maid. Does this cause any difficulties to apply for one more maid? ---- no problem. as long as you write it clearly on the contract. who is sharing which room with whom and the age of the kids sharing the room with the maid
3) If I am going to look for one more Philp. Shall I find by myself or ask my existing maid to look for me. She is very good to my daughter and is a responsible one. --- if you really trust your maid, you can ask her to find a reliable relative for you. Just set out your standard. Back to the same old question: it depends on your luck.

I have two philippino maids currently. One already employed for 14 years and the other one is more than 4 years. I first employ my second maid when I gave birth to my baby boy. The second one was the sister-in-law of my first maid. I do think there are more advantages if there are two maids, especially for the early years of the baby for the following reasons:
1. taking care of a new born baby really needs a bit of energy and when the baby can walk by himself you need to keep a close eye on it.
2. I have the two maid each having holidays alternatively on Sat &
Sun, thus at any time I can have someone to assist me.
3. By having two maids, I can spend my time with my baby with quality instead of using my time on just labouring type of work (one maid usually cannot handle all household work, you may need to assist her if you only have one maid).
Frankly speaking, my boy is now already four years old and the need for 2 maids now become lesser but it did help me a lot in the first few years.
I don't see any conflict between the two maids as long as they know their duties clearly. One of my maid is mainly responsible for taking care of my boy while the other on the household work.
