i just delivery my baby at May, every things goes fine. The baby without any sign effect.
I discovered having a thyroid diease at my 10 weeks pregnant, which is the second time of having these disease. I take the medicine from week 12 up to week 34, delivery the baby at week 37.
As i know, if having a thyroid diease, it will be more easy to get miscariage because of the hormone. so you must take more rest.
And, must take the medicine to control the T3, T4, and TSH. Can only start the medicine after wk 12 ( docotor will advicse u) when the fetal becomes more stable.
Remember to take the medicine as if u did not control the hormone, when ur hormone's level is high, then the fetal's hormone will go high with u.
If not control the hormone, the most signifcant influence/ effect to the baby having such kind of diease is : IQ problem.
Same as mo-b, my thyroid "disease"was discovered by "a doctor" because I vomited seriously once I got pregnant. ( I said a doctor because I consulted so many doctors that their answer was the same: vomiting is normal at the early stage of pregnancy) at week 10 of my pregnancy. I was very surprised and afraid of that as I haven't any thyroid problem or disease before. Then the doctor told me to take medicine everyday and I shared with him my depression. But he said that there is no choices other than taking medicine. So I took the advice of the doctor and kept check the blood test every month. Until week 24, the result was normal. So I stopped taking medicine and from then onwards, everything was ok.
My baby (now is a 4-year girl) was delivered on March, 2000. Once she was born, all tests indicated normal and my thyroid problem disappeared.
SO, please don't worry and be happy. Sometimes, in my experience, know little and scare little!
Hope my experience can help!

I also have thyroid since 1999. When I am pregnant in 2003, I live in hospital for half month in my first pregnant month. My thyroid test - T3 & T4 is 5 times higher than normal. My pregnant reaction is very high which make me got temperture and vomit continually. I lost 18 lbs during this month.
Luckly, my doctor is very good, he changed my treatment medine which make my thyroid became normal when I am 3 months pregnancy.
My baby boy is very heavy and he did not got my sick... by the way, my doctor told me boy is better than girl. Because baby girl has large opportunity to get thyroid from mother. But this can be recover after treatment for few months after born.
Don't worry, just follow your doctor instruction and you & your baby must be very heavy.
