Bluestar & all,
My maid expiry date will be 16/7 and I call Indo Consulate this morning to book interview, 12/7 already the earliest!! Wonder if still enough time to get back documents for HK Immigration Dept? Any similar cases? Thx!
The following message was posted by a BK mummy in mid-May.
Pls read it through, especially Tubbies, since your case is quite similar and you will need to do the same.

I've completed the Contract renewal with Indonesia Consulate on 13 May.
The new DH contract is not available unitl 28 May but my DH's visa has expired on 18 May. Finally, my maid went to Immigration to renew a temporary VISITOR visa on 18 May and expiry on 1 June so that we can wait for the DH contract. We have to go to Immigration again after collection of contract to renew the 2 years' working visa. That wasted time for going Immigration twice (my maid went there twice for collecting information of how to extend a temporary visa) and paid extra visa fee $135.
I think the work load at Indonesia Consulate is too heavy now and many coming renewal application will face the same situation like me.

From what BK mummies have been encountering recently, it seems that :
1. You can get through the tel line to make an appointment only very in the morning, e.g. 9:35am (Their office hours start from 9:30 am).
2. Once they have made a sufficient no. of interview appointments, they seem to hang up the phone, so it is always engaged and employers cannot get through.
3. Even if you call up earlier, i.e. more than 1 month before contract expiry, even if you can put the call through successfully, they can still ask you to call later (i.e. 1 month ahead) and refuse to talk further.
[In Tubbies' case, she could make an appointment more than 1 month in advance of old contract falling due, in fact it is nearly 6 weeks ahead already, so they have made some allowance here already.]
4. Even if you make an appointment successfully, they can still refuse to let you have the interview (don't know exact reason), and advise you to go to an agent to process contract renewal.
So Tubbies, you will need to go to HK Imm Dept on 12/7, and then again on the day you collect the new DH contract back from Indo Consulate. And also need to pay HK Imm Dept twice (HK$135 x 2).
Bluestar,
Thank U! U are always very helpful!
This morning I called Indo Consulate at about 10:30am and no problem to get thru the line. That gentleman on phone was quite polite! He asked me when will be the expiry date and I told him 16/7. Actually I asked if I could have interview earlier but he said that 12/7 will be the earliest already!!!
To get thru Imm Dept twice & pay extra $135 not a problem as long as Indo Consulate won't reject our interview w/o any reason!
Any things I / my DH need to pay attention when go to Imm Dept the same day after going to Indo Consulate (I mean 1st time on 12/7)? Thanks a lot!
Just be patient on 12 July when you arrive at Indo Consulate - queue up, and wait for the lady staff there to take pity on you.
I think she is led by her own mood, so if you try to push her she simply gives you a black face, and puts you at the end of her queue.
She will pass you a pile of documents (of another employer + Indo maid) and ask you to sort your documents in the same order.
Anyways, do as you are told there, and it should be OK.
For going to HK Imm Dept on 12 July, go immediately after you have finished with Indo Consulate. You should show HK Imm Dept your slip for new contract collection (i.e. the piece of paper issued by Indo Consulate), and your maid's passport, plus bring along about 2 or 4 photos of your Indo maid. I guess the rest is just filling-in forms, and paying $. Should not take up too much time. (My guess is around 1.5 hours, same as for issue of working visa for new contract.)
