Will you employe Indon. maid who stole things in the supermarket. Her reason is that you did not give her enough food? She employed in Jan. 03 and stole things in July 03. She never mentioned not enough food to you or the agent. We always angry with her not being honest and no responsibility. She said, "why do you so angryand talkative. I stole, the police did not angry with me.' Oh, my godness, how can a maid be like that, steal things and NO SHY, NO GULITY at all.
But be aware that when you go to buy things with your maid in supermarket, they can steal fruit and put them into another plastic bags. Then they can go out with their fruit without pay together with your things which you paid. I think they are common to do that as there is NO BAR CODE for the fruit. If the sales find this, the maid may say the fruit is taken by you.

I also want to fire her immediately, but I have no back up to take care of 2 children. Both 2 need to join the out-school activities. They need to be brought in and out. Actually, I am now enough for her, I cannot tolerate - always talking back, once I said 'shut up' for her, do you know what her response ......... she said to me , 'you shut up'. She always says ' You can fire me if you give me air-ticket and 1-month salary '. I do not want to give her 1-month salary, otherwise she will think the 1-month salary is so easy to get and it is a MUST. What can I do? Do you think she will 'play' if I give her 1-month notice for the dismisal.
One more thing is that, she always charge her mobile phone without my permission. I told her many times that if she uses my thing again pls ask me and get my permission. But she failed to do. I'm not unwilling to let her use but is not happy with her attitute - it seems 'low fung' for her.
I gave her warning letter that she needs to pay money if she do it again without my permission and she signed also. Last week I also found that she charged again, I made the movie and asked her to sign the letter of being use my thing, she refused and said, " I've never seen an employer like you, so selfish.'
At that time, I think I need to say, 'why don't you say Wellcome is selfish, not let you took their things and call the police.'
Oh, what can I do with this maid? Can I take some money for the coming salary being given her a lesson not so easy for using one's thing.(as she has signed for this agreemet)
She liked to hear walkman while working and I discoverd this twice. I also talked to her on this, how can I stop this again. When I told her, she said yes, then maybe few weeks later, the bad habit re-appear again.

Once she committed a criminal offence (stealling) with record (police charge), you can fire her immediately without paying any compensation (payment in lieu of notice) BUT you still have to buy her an airticket home, coz you're her sponsor in all the way she leaving home.

But the agent and the labour Dept said it cannot as the stolen is in the supermarket and not at my home. It is NOT in relation to the employment. Is it true?
Can she be back to work in HK again if I fired her, will the Immigration or Labour Dept let her work in HK. If a new employer employe her, do the new employer know she has a criminal offence?
