Hello Nick 媽,
You may try mashed cooked egg yolk at 9 months.
For now, there are finger foods you may consider (allows BB to practice the pincer grasp this way and have fun feeding himself):
1) Well-cooked (steamed is better than boiled, without loosing nutrients in boiliing water) vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans and peas. They must be cut into pea size and soft so that you can cut it up with a fork to avoid choking. Even with a few teeth, your baby can still grind food and practice chewing on solid food with her gums!
2) Soft and ripe fruits like pears, banana, water melon, papaya, peaches, avocados, kiwi fruit, plus tiny pieces of cooked & peeled apple.
3) Bite-size O-shaped oats cereal like Cheerios.
4) Tiny pieces of tender chicken, and bread (preferrable whole grain bread).
Don't add in salt or sugar when cooking as he doesn't need these at this young age. I introduce new food one at a time, 5-7 days apart to watch out for food allergies and intollerance.
Hope this helps! :-P
