Can only take video when the baby is coming out, not at the beginning.
heard that the hospital is a bit old, but how about the facilities and nursing staff?
coz my doc only works on HK island, I live in Tung Chung, which means I need to travel very far far away. So I want to make sure Canossa is good, or else I may need to switch to another doctor and go to Baptist instead.
The hospital is not the very fancy type comparing to the other private hospital but personally I think it's very OK. Guess you should go and take a look yourself to make sure you like it. I also live far away from it (Tin Shui Wai) and planned to have natural delivery but still I'd choose this hospital. Actually it's around 10 mins more to go there than the private hospital in Kowloon side so I'd not switch doctor or hospital just because of the distance.
The nurse there are all very nice too. But actually I do see quite a lot of mainland women there. Guess this is unavoidable nowadays in every hospital...

yes, good service
when i gave birth in March, also quite a lot of mainland china people but it seems that they put hk people together and mainland in one room
besides, i was by emergency caserean, my mom was crying and the mid-wife was nice and she comforted my mom and me as well.... they also taught me how to handle bb, breastfeed etc, so i didnt attend any classes and can take care of my bb good
that's good to know...
btw... do u need to pay deposit way in advance? my EDD is end jan and they expect me to pay deposit now.... do they treat those mainlanders and hk-ers the same????

HK residents also need to pay deposite ($20K). My EDD is August and I had to pay in April to confirm the reservation.
Per my understanding, mainlanders need to pay an additional $40K.

大好友, no worry, I also live in Tung Chung, and I choose Canossa hospital as well, my doctor is in HK side, and my C-section date will be on July 10.
If u worry about the travel time from TC to Canossa hospital, I think no private hospital is near Tung Chung.
I went to Canossa for the antenatal class for six weeks, I agreed that the hospital is a bit old, but the nurses are good...I think the service is pretty good...
When is your EDD? May be I can give you some advise when I gave birth....
Good luck...
